Update

This is the finishing product of my contents page for my school magazine, I followed the same house style as my front cover to display the fact that it "belongs" to my magazine i added 3 original photo's and one previously taken photograph onto this page to once again add a creative effect towards my magazine. I had edited two of my pictures on photo shop using the Magic wand tool for a second time and left the other two images at their natual state to show a range of photography states. I used the same colours and font and sizes on my contents as this flowed within my magazine. I also included an editors letter to the readers in an informal tone creating a friendship state of relationship to my target audience (school pupils, teachers and parents/carers), I introduced myself in this letter and I informed them on the basics of what they would experience within the issue as i feel if I was I reader for this magazine I would prefer too be informed and notified as I would then be able to decide whether the particular issue is right for me.

Update

This is my finishing product of my school magazine I took a variety of pictures using my original photography and i eventually came to discussion that these two main images would be used. I used the image of the school on the forground as it livened up my front cover and added a further creative effect. Then i added the images of the four pupils from the school ontop, i had edited this picture on photoshop using the magic wand tool. I believe that these chosen images really show what a school is made up of, children enjoying thierselves in a good school community. I chose the main article to be based on a new school building coming soon as this is current and keeps the range of target audience up to date and involved. I used the colours blue, red, green & purple as these are the house colours for the school i used these particular colours throughout the whole of my school magazine with the additional black and white as these are fairly basic and toned down colours. My choice of background colour was two shades of grey (light and dark) this colour is not a busy colour and made a good background as it drew the readers eye onto the main image. I used the strapline "packed with highlights..." as it easily related back to my masthead HT Highligts and was suitable for a school magazine. The text i used was arial but the size of the font was scaled down to size for the mast head and the logo but was size 18 on the left third and the issue number and 20 on the headline, the price and the logo.

Update

I have now chosen the name for my magazine and the name "HT Highlights" was chosen in poll by my peers, i created a questionnaire to recieve views and ideas from my peers. i hate chosen a colour scheme of green, red, blue and purple as these are the house colours for my school. i have created a flatplan of my front cover discussing the layout and form of my magazine that i will soon be creating and am now focusing on the flatplan of my double page contents. i have also come up with an idea for my main article, this will be "football vs choir" as my school has a group of students for each of these, i will be photographing them very soon.
watch this space!
As well as making annotations on school magazine front covers, i also annotaded around a contents page as a clear example on the structure on which my magazine must follow.
I have also annotated around a second school magazine to make a comparason between the two and enable myself to discover whether most school magazines follow the same structure.
I annotated around a schools rugby magazine to see if it had all the correct codes and conventions of a magazine and i went into depth on what the particular magazine includes.
